Meet Our Board

President: SUE THOMPSON

An Orlando native, Sue Thompson is a humanitarian, photographer, artist, and peace advocate based in Orlando, Florida. She is the Founding President of the Rotary IMPACT Club of Orlando, a global-minded club dedicated to peacebuilding, youth engagement, creative service, and international partnerships. With decades of experience working across the U.S., the Middle East, the Caribbean, and Latin America, Sue uses art, photography, and storytelling to connect communities and inspire action. She believes deeply in Rotary’s principle of “Service Above Self” and brings it to life through the guiding motto of her club: Local Hands ~ Global Reach.

Vice-President & President Elect: GLORIA ESTEBAN

Gloria Esteban, born and raised in Kansas City, graduated from Rockhurst College, now Rockhurst University with a BSBA degree in Accounting. Worked for AT&T moved to Orlando in 1993 with her husband and two young daughters. Earned Executive MBA from Crummer in 1999 which included Practicum in Australia, and meetings in Czech Republic and Germany. Accomplishments include: Orlando President Hispanic Association of AT&T Employees, Chairman’s Quality Award Participant for AT&T,  Leadership Seminole, Chairman of Board-Meals on Wheels Orlando, Lifework Leadership Orlando graduate, Toastmasters, Orange County Public School Hispanic Superintendent Council Chair, Additions and Dividends Volunteer, Volunteer of the year-Jones High School, Retired Mortgage Loan Officer, currently volunteer at Bridges of America, Fla Dept of Corrections Work Release teaching public speaking and home based business. Along with her husband of 49 years they enjoy being with their 4 grandchildren. She speaks English and Spanglish.

Secretary: CHRISTY CARTER CALDWELL  

Born in Columbus, Ohio. Speech & Theatre BFA at Ohio University. Lived in St Vincent & the Grenadines (Southern Caribbean) for ten years on a small resort island with a boutique and SCUBA shop. My two sons were born there. Living at the intersection of extreme wealth and crushing poverty inspired me to start a free Day Care Center (still open) and to help fund the first birth control clinic in Union Island, Grenadines. Lived in Florida for thirty-nine years and was a foster mother for three years. Careers as an interior designer, professional singer and ESL teacher with two years in Argentina and five in Mexico. Performed nationally and internationally. Retired to Mexico in 2019 and joined Rotary Club of Ajijic--Secretary for two years. Traveled to Uganda in 2021 with Rotary. Produced and/or sang in twelve fundraising shows in Ajijic/Lake Chapala raising half a million pesos for feeding programs, boys orphanage and others. Christy has wrote, translated, edited and published two books. Speaks Spanish and the proud grandmother of four.

Treasurer: ALICIA KOUTSOULIERIS 

Alicia is a first-generation Greek American. Originally from Cahokia, Illinois and grew up and lives in Central Florida. Attended University of Central Florida for undergraduate and graduate studies focusing on Political Science and History, with minors in Middle Eastern Studies and Religious Studies. Long-time member of Amnesty International (www.amnestyusa.org) and serves as the Country Specialist for Israel/OPT/State of Palestine. Serves on the board of Partners for Palestine (www.partnersforpalestine.org), a nonprofit organization focusing on advocacy and education. First trip to Palestine, 2016 with Eyewitness Palestine (www.eyewitnesspalestine.org) and met with organizations and activists to see how the occupation affects Palestinian’s daily life.  She has given commentary on Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories with the news outlets Arab Organization for Human Rights (UK), Al Jazeera and Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT).
